The board of directors for The Safe Community Project is pleased to announce that Harout “Harry” Semerdjian has joined the organization. Most recently, Harout worked for the City of Los Angeles in Council District 13, where he was responsible for policy related to public safety, innovation and technology.
Harout will take on the role of Director of Government Affairs for The Safe Community Project. Working closely with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, Harout will aid the organization in building stronger relationships with local, State, and Federal partners and elected officials.
Harout holds both B.A. and M.A. degrees in modern History and Near Eastern Studies from UCLA. He also holds an MA:D in International Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. An avid student and dedicated public servant, Harout has also been a PhD scholar in International Affairs at the University of Oxford, St. Antony’s College.
